~ Celebrating the 25th Anniversary of the ACJC Choir ~
Advent /’adv(?)nt, -v?nt/ Noun
The word Advent simply means ‘coming’. In this case, it refers to the coming of Christ and points to His birth in history and humanity. The advent season represents our celebration of His coming and all that He has done for us. On the 7th of December 2013, the ACJC Alumni Choir celebrated the season of Advent with a concert at the SOTA Concert Hall. It was a full house with family and friends as the choir shared the joy of Christmas with songs that showcased a broad range of musical styles that focused on a central theme – the declaration and celebration of God’s greatest gift to mankind: Jesus Christ.
The choir sang songs such as My Lord has Come, Arr. by Will Todd; O Magnum Mysterium by Javier Busto; A Spotless Rose by Paul Mealor; among other Christmas tunes. As part of the ACJC Choir’s 25th Anniversary, the Alumni Choir and the ACJC Choir also performed familiar favourites: Ding Dong Merrily on High, Quem Pastores Laudavere, Noel Nouvelet, The Christmas Song, and Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas to the delight of the choir alumni seated in the audience.
